IEM Katowice 2016 – WCS Winter Championship

, News

The Intel Extreme Masters is making its final stop of the year in Katowice, making this the third year in a row the finals will take place at the Spodek Arena. After many calls for his return, ESL has hired everyone’s favourite Englishman in a suit (no, not Daniel Craig or Colin Firth) Paul ‘ReDeYe’ Chaloner, to host the SC2 event.

The WCS Winter Championship will take place March 2nd- 6th at the Spokek Arena and boasts a $116,000 prize pool. The changes to the WCS system have added a variety of players from different regions based upon performances in the European and Norther American qualifiers, as well as regional challengers and WCS standings.
If you’ve missed seeing some of your favourite casters since the changes to the WCS system, then the wait is over as ReDeYe will be joined by an all star cast of fan favourites:

The ro32 promises to be action packed with a multitude of first class players such as Hydra, Mana and who can forget Lilbow?  The first foreigner to make it to Blizzcon since Johan “NaNiwa” Lucchesi’s run in 2013. With such a huge array of talent, who will lay claim to a chunk of that $116,000 prize pool and the number one spot?

There is still time to create your own Fantasy League team for the championship.

All of the details and where to purchase tickets can be found on the official IEM website.
